Honda Dream Drive is a new in-vehicle experience for Honda vehicles. It is the result of a collaboration between Honda Innovations, which partners with innovators to create cutting edge products and exclusive Honda services, and Connected Travel, a connected vehicle platform and application services company.
The Dream Drive prototype debuted earlier this year at CES 2019 in a demo model of the 2019 Honda Passport. The prototype gave drivers and passengers a glimpse at the future of Honda, which (as expected) will enhance driver and passenger safety, simplify travel, and deliver superior infotainment technology.
Honda Dream Drive consists of two components: Driver and Passenger. Let’s take a look at both.
Honda Dream Drive: Driver
Driver allows customers to make restaurant reservations, pay for goods and services such as fuel, movie tickets and parking, and share their location with friends and family all from their connected Honda car mobile wallet. It is an expansion of Honda’s payment technology concept, which was first introduced at CES 2017 in collaboration with Visa.
Honda Dream Drive is both voice and touch enabled, which allows users to access its features safely and easily. Its ease-of-use and the simplicity of its platform diminish distracted driving, which improves driving safety, but does so without diminishing the driving experience. It’s simply a new and intuitive way to access and share information safely and quickly.
Honda Dream Drive: Passenger
Passenger gives passengers the ability to play games, watch movies, listen to music, read stories, use travel applications, explore points of interest along their traveled route, and control the radio and cabin features all from their connected mobile device.
The breadth of services available to passengers attest to Honda’s commitment to providing the best in-vehicle services to all its customers. To develop the Passenger experience, Honda collaborated with AAA, DC, Entercom/RADIO.COM, the LEGO Group, Silvergate Media and the Octonauts team, and Univision Music.
Honda Dream Drive also includes a Honda Rewards program. This new points-based program rewards drivers and passengers for using Honda products and services. By using Honda Dream Drive features such as watching movies, listening to music, paying for gas, and so on, drivers and passengers will earn reward points that they can redeem at local and online retailers.
